Class Dojo at Fairfield Primary School
At Fairfield Primary School, we use Class Dojo as a digital communication and learning platform. Class Dojo helps to strengthen the partnership between home and s
chool by providing parents and guardians with regular updates about school life while celebrating the many successes and achievements of our pupils.
Through Class Dojo, families can keep up-to-date with whole-school events, class activities, educational visits and special celebrations via our School Story, and Class Story pages. These updates provide a valuable insight into the exciting learning experiences taking place across the school and enable parents to share in their child's educational journey.
Celebrating Success Through Dojo Points
Class Dojo plays an important role in our positive behaviour and rewards system. Pupils are awarded Dojo Points when they demonstrate our school values or go above and beyond in their learning and behaviour. These points are used to recognise and celebrate positive contributions both inside and outside the classroom.
Children work together as part of their class team to accumulate Dojo Points over a two week cycle thus encouraging collaboration, teamwork and a shared sense of achievement. This approach helps to create a positive school culture where effort, perseverance and excellent behaviour are recognised and rewarded. The class, with the highest accumulated fortnightly total, is award with the prestigious Dojo trophy and an additional 30-minute social time with friends. Please see our Behaviour Policy for further information.
Home Learning and Learning Celebrations
Class Dojo also serves as an important home learning platform. Pupils can upload photographs, videos and examples of work completed at home for teachers to view and celebrate.
Sharing Information with Families
Teachers use Class Dojo to share important information, documents and resources with families. Throughout the year, parents can access:
- School reports
- Curriculum information
- Parent presentation slides
- Letters and important announcements
- Information relating to educational visits, events and special activities
By storing important documents within Class Dojo, parents can easily access key information whenever it is needed.
Communication Through Class Dojo
In-line with Fairfield Primary School's Communication Protocol and our commitment to supporting staff well-being, parents and guardians cannot send direct messages to individual class teachers through Class Dojo. This helps to ensure that teachers can maintain a healthy work-life balance while remaining focused on teaching and learning.
However, parents are able to contact school leaders and members of the administration team through the platform should they need support, advice or assistance. This ensures that messages are directed appropriately and that queries can be responded to efficiently.
Through the effective use of Class Dojo, we are able to celebrate achievement, strengthen communication, share learning and build strong partnerships between home and school, helping every child to thrive at Fairfield Primary School.
