Today the children in Year 4 started 'TACKLING NUMBERS', a programme that brings together aspects of everyday maths and rugby, presented by Mr Keith Robinson of Newcastle Falcons. The children have one session of maths in the morning, and in the afternoon they have fun improving their tag ruby skills. Tackling Numbers today, looked at everyday finance. Solving problems about buying tickets to go to a rugby match, the children learned about credit and debit cards with Mr Robinson illustrating what happens if you use a credit card vs a debit card - we explored the concept of having to pay interest. Lots of good contributions from the class, who were really engaged in their learning.
