We are very proud to announce that we have been shortlisted for another award!

Following on from our success at the Golden Apple awards in October, our fantastic sports provision within the school and community (led by Mr Barton and Miss Murphy) has been shortlisted for the ‘Active Education’ Award at Cumbria Sports awards this year.

The prestigious annual event, organised by Active Cumbria, will be held on Friday, November 30, at The Low Wood Bay Hotel, Windermere.

The event recognises the outstanding talents, commitment and successes of teams and individuals throughout Cumbria who are involved in sport. The awards also highlight the dedication and commitment of the vast number of volunteers, coaches, and others behind the scenes who make sport happen across the county.

This year the guest speaker at the event will be Jenny Meadows, Team GB Athlete, and World and European Medallist.

Awards organisers Active Cumbria, who have agreed a headline partnership with United Utilities for this year’s event, asked Cumbrian clubs, governing bodies, sports fans, parents, coaches or teachers to submit their nominations.

The Active Education Award will be awarded to the school, college or university that can demonstrate a commitment to providing high quality physical activity and sporting opportunities for all pupils through a wide range of curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities.

Fairfield Primary has been shortlisted from 25 nominated schools and we are very excited to attend the ceremony. Fingers crossed!

We will report live from the event and keep you posted!
